Danfoss OMR 160: where it fits in the range and how to size it
Choosing between the Danfoss OMR 160 and the size below it is mostly a question about your pump. Both can carry the same continuous torque. What separates them is how much oil you have to give and how hard you want to push the pressure. Get that wrong and you either starve the motor or run it harder than it needs. This guide gives you the real ratings and a simple way to decide. Advance Hydraulic Works works with hydraulic pump and motor repair and supply from Delhi NCR, and this is how we’d go through it with you.
Danfoss OMR 160 motor: the real ratings
A reseller datasheet for the common version, the 151-0414, gives a displacement of 159.6 cm³, a continuous speed of 375 rpm (470 intermittent), continuous torque of 300 N·m (390 intermittent, 460 peak), power of 10 kW (12.5 intermittent), a pressure drop of 130 bar (175 intermittent, 225 peak) and a flow of 60 litres per minute (75 intermittent). The motor has a 25 mm straight shaft and no drain port.
A manufacturer table lists continuous speeds for the neighbouring sizes as 480 rpm for the 125, about 385 for the 160 and 310 for the 2 hundred. Datasheets vary through some rpm, so check the modern one to your exact version.
Danfoss OMR 160 hydraulic motor: how it differs from the 125
Put the two side by side. The 125 and the 160 both rate at 300 N·m continuous. The 125 does it at a continuous speed of about 475 rpm, but needs a higher pressure. The 160 does it at about 375 rpm and 130 bar.
So moving up a size doesn’t buy you more continuous torque. It buys you the same torque at lower pressure and lower speed. That’s useful if your relief valve is set low or you want gentler duty, and a waste if you need speed.
Who makes it now?
A Czech reseller says Danfoss OMR hydraulic motors are no longer produced and the 151-0414 has been replaced by 11186658, made by White Drive Motors & Steering. A German shop shows the old number as sold out, with White Drive as the manufacturer and the same new number. A Dutch shop lists the White model with the previous Danfoss number 151-0414, made in Poland, weighing 7.Eighty five kg.
Hydraulic motors from distinct makers can share a length and nonetheless vary inside the info. Check the records sheet on your exact model.
What it costs
These are overseas listings. None is an Advance Hydraulic Works price:
- An aftermarket motor at $209.50, listed in stock.
- Another at $219.98.
- A China-made motor at $239.99 plus $115 shipping, with a one-year warranty.
- The White version at €407.13, down from €492.63.
- The old Danfoss number at €570.94, sold out.

The method: duty, flow, pressure, version
Duty. Write down the torque, speed and pressure your machine needs continuously.
Flow. Check how much oil your pump can give at that pressure.
Pressure. Check your relief valve setting.
Version. Confirm the part number, shaft and drain port from the nameplate.
A worked example
Say a drive needs 300 N·m continuously at about 380 rpm. The Danfoss OMR 160 would need 159.6 × 380 ÷ 1,000, about 60.6 litres per minute, at roughly 130 bar. The 125 would need 125.7 × 380 ÷ 1,000, about 48 litres per minute, but at around 150 to 175 bar.
Now look at your pump. If it gives 50 litres per minute and your relief is at 175 bar, the 125 is the better fit. The one hundred sixty would handiest get to about 50,000 ÷ 159.6, round 313 rpm, that's slower than you want. If your pump offers 60 litres in step with minute and your relief is at one hundred forty bar, the a hundred and sixty is the higher in shape, due to the fact the a hundred twenty five would need more strain than your machine allows. The right length relies upon at the pump, no longer on the biggest range. This is illustrative mathematics, so use the cutting-edge facts for your genuine automobiles.
Implementation steps
- Photograph the vintage motor’s nameplate, shaft and flange earlier than removal.
- Write down the overall part variety, which includes 151-0414, and observe whether or not it has a drain port.
- Work out the non-stop torque, pace and pressure your gadget needs.
- Check your pump’s float and your remedy valve placing.
- Send the entirety to Advance Hydraulic Works and ask what’s to be had.
- Ask the vendor to kingdom the maker, component range, circumstance and guarantee in writing.
- Compare the added motor’s plate and shaft along with your old one before becoming.
- Flush the lines, fit the motor, run it unloaded first and watch temperature and noise.
The usual mistakes are upsizing for torque you already have, ignoring the pump’s flow and running above the continuous ratings.
FAQs
What is the Danfoss OMR 160?
An orbital motor with 159.6 cm³ displacement, rated at about 375 rpm, 300 N·m and 130 bar continuous. It’s used on conveyors, augers and wheel drives.
What is a Danfoss OMR 160 motor used for?
Low-speed, high-torque drives where a gearbox would add cost and size, such as conveyors, augers, sweepers and small wheel drives.
Is the Danfoss OMR 160 hydraulic motor better than the 125?
Not for continuous torque, since both are rated at 300 N·m. The 160 gives that torque at lower pressure and lower speed.
Has the Danfoss OMR 160 been discontinued?
One reseller says Danfoss OMR motors are no longer produced and the 151-0414 was replaced by 11186658. Ask any seller what they’re offering.
Can Advance Hydraulic Works supply a Danfoss OMR 160 hydraulic motor?
Send the nameplate photos, model code and working pressure to Advance Hydraulic Works and ask about availability, maker and warranty before you commit.
Your next step
Photograph the nameplate, note your pump’s flow and your relief setting, and send everything to Advance Hydraulic Works. You’ll know which size you need before you spend anything.
