DANFOSS OMR 315 HYDRAULIC MOTOR

Danfoss OMR 315: where it fits in the range and how to size it

The Danfoss OMR 315 and the OMR 250 below it carry the same continuous torque, so the choice comes down to your pump. How much oil can it deliver, and how much pressure will your relief valve allow? Pick wrong and you starve the motor or push it harder than the job needs. Advance Hydraulic Works handles hydraulic pump and motor repair and supply from Delhi NCR, and this is how we'd work through it with you.

Danfoss OMR 315 motor: the real ratings

Listings for the common 25 mm shaft version, part number 151-0717, give a displacement of about 315 cm³. It runs at 190 rpm continuous and 240 rpm intermittent, and makes 300 N·m continuous and 420 N·m intermittent. The pressure drop is 70 bar continuous and 100 bar intermittent. Flow tops out at 60 litres per minute continuous and 75 intermittent, and continuous power is 5.0 kW.

Other versions rate much higher. A 32 mm shaft version is listed at 590 N·m and 135 bar, and another at 550 N·m and 135 bar. The displacement is the same, the limits aren't. Read the datasheet for your exact part number, not the one next to it.

Danfoss OMR 315 hydraulic motor: how it differs from the OMR 250

Take the two 25 mm versions. The OMR 250 is rated at 300 N·m, 240 rpm and 80 bar continuous. The OMR 315 gives the same 300 N·m at 190 rpm and 70 bar.

Moving up a size therefore doesn't add continuous torque. You get the same torque for 10 bar less pressure, at 50 rpm less speed. That fits a device with a low comfort setting, or a drive you'd like to run lightly. If you want speed, the larger motor works in opposition to you, because it turns slower at the same waft.

Who makes the Danfoss OMR 315 now?

A Czech reseller lists 151-0717 and 151-0417 as replaced by the OMR X 315, part number 11186652, made by White Drive Motors & Steering, formerly Danfoss and Sauer-Danfoss. The replacement depends on the version. The same reseller suggests 151-0727 changed by means of 11185564 and 151-7257 through 11185491.

A European provider lists the 11186652 with a take a look at valve, offset aspect ports and a 106.4 mm bolt circle. Motors from different makers can share dimensions and still differ inside. If your nameplate is hard to read, send a photo of it, along with the shaft and flange, to Advance Hydraulic Works and we'll match the replacement before you order.

What the Danfoss OMR 315 costs

These are overseas listings. None is an Advance Hydraulic Works price:

  • A Danfoss OMR 315 with 32 mm shaft at €430.10 except VAT, one in inventory.
  • An OMR 315, 151-0717, move-referenced to 11186652, at $310.00.
  • Maker, shaft, version and assurance give an explanation for the unfold. The displacement doesn't.

The method: duty, flow, pressure, version

Start with responsibility: the torque, pace and strain your system needs continuously. Then take a look at glide, that means what your pump gives at that strain, and strain, meaning where your relief valve is set. Last, confirm the version from the nameplate, including part number, shaft and flange.

A worked example

Say a drive needs 300 N·m continuously at about 150 rpm. The OMR 315 needs 315 × 150 ÷ 1,000, about 47 litres per minute, at roughly 70 bar. The OMR 250 needs 249.3 × 150 ÷ 1,000, about 37 litres per minute, but at around 80 bar.

Now placed a pump at the back of it. With 50 litres in line with minute and a remedy valve at 75 bar, the 315 suits and the 250 would not, due to the fact the 250 wishes extra stress than the device permits. With 38 litres in step with minute and the relaxation at a hundred bar, it flips. The 250 is the higher match, and the 315 would best turn at about 38,000 ÷ 315, kind of 121 rpm, nicely quick of 150.

The pump comes to a decision the dimensions, now not the bigger range. These figures are illustrative, so test the datasheet to your real motor, and send your numbers to Advance Hydraulic Works if you'd like a second pair of eyes.

Implementation steps

  1. Photograph the vintage motor's nameplate, shaft and flange earlier than doing away with it.
  2. Write down the whole part quantity, which includes 151-0717, and notice any drain port.
  3. Work out the continuous torque, velocity and strain your machine desires.
  4. Check your pump's waft and your remedy valve setting.
  5. Send the whole lot to Advance Hydraulic Works and ask what's available.
  6. Ask the vendor to kingdom the maker, part variety, condition and guarantee in writing.
  7. Compare the brand new motor's plate and shaft with the old one earlier than becoming.
  8. Flush the traces, in shape the motor, and run it unloaded first. Then carry it up to operating strain while you watch temperature and noise.

The mistakes we see most are upsizing for torque you already have, ignoring the pump's flow and running above the continuous ratings.

FAQs

What is the Danfoss OMR 315?
An orbital motor with about 315 cm³ displacement. The common 25 mm shaft version is rated at 190 rpm, 300 N·m and 70 bar continuous.

What is a Danfoss OMR 315 motor used for?
Low-speed, high-torque drives where a gearbox would add cost and size, such as conveyors, augers, sweepers and small wheel drives.

Is the Danfoss OMR 315 hydraulic motor better than the OMR 250?
Not for continuous torque, since both give about 300 N·m. The 315 delivers it at lower pressure and lower speed.

Has the Danfoss OMR 315 been discontinued?
A Czech reseller lists 151-0717 as replaced by the OMR X 315, 11186652. Ask any seller exactly what they're offering.

Can Advance Hydraulic Works supply a Danfoss OMR 315 hydraulic motor?
Send the nameplate photos, part number and working pressure to Advance Hydraulic Works and ask about availability, maker and warranty before you commit.

Your next step

Photograph the nameplate, note your pump's flow and your relief setting, and send everything to Advance Hydraulic Works. You'll know which size you need before you spend anything.
