Description

Who owns White drive motors now, and why should a buyer care? Most pages on this topic skip an awkward fact: the company behind these orbital motors has changed hands twice in five years. That matters if you’re hunting for a White drive motors dealer, a White drive motors distributor or a White hydraulic motor supplier. It decides who can legitimately sell the motors, who can back them up, and what a seller should be able to show you. We’re Advance Hydraulic Works, and we import and trade hydraulic motors and pumps from Delhi NCR. Here’s how we’d go about it. Who made it, and who owns it today? The brand started at a Kentucky company in Hopkinsville, known for its orbital gerotor motor. It was renamed White Drive Products in 2005. Danfoss sold it in 2016. In 2021, Danfoss spun off the commercial venture as a stand-alone unit so it is able to sell it, which it needed to win regulatory acclaim for its Eaton Hydraulics deal Interpump Group announced the remainder of its purchase on 1 October 2021. So Interpump Group of Italy owns it now. Old nameplates, old catalogues and old dealer claims can point back to a previous owner. Why ownership matters when you pick a White drive motors dealer A seller calling itself a White drive motors dealer might be working from an old agreement, a chain of resellers or reconditioned stock. None of that is automatically wrong. But “authorised” should be something you can check against today’s owner, not against a name that was valid in 2018. So ask one thing first: who are you buying from, and can you show me? What a White drive motors distributor should be able to show A White drive motors distributor normally buys straight from the manufacturer and sells on to dealers or end users. If someone uses that label, it’s fair to ask for the current agreement or authorisation, the source of the stock in front of you, whether the motor is new, remanufactured or used, and who stands behind the warranty. What “White hydraulic motor supplier” means This is the loosest of the three labels. It covers importers, traders and resellers. Advance Hydraulic Works is in this group. We don’t claim to be an authorised dealer or distributor. If we quote you a motor, ask where it came from. Ask anyone else the same thing. Trace, match, verify Trace the motor first. Get the seller to name the source in writing, then check that source against the current owner. Next, match it. Copy the full model code off the nameplate. Older motors may carry earlier branding, and that’s normal. Last, verify before you pay. Compare displacement, shaft, mounting flange and ports against your machine. A worked example Say you got 200 cc matched to a revolutionary orbital motor fed with 40 liters corresponding to the minute. The speed is 40,000 ÷ 200 = 200 rpm. The theoretical torque on the one hundred and fifty bar is one hundred and fifty × 2 hundred ÷ sixty-two.8, about 478 N•m. Real torque comes out lower once you allow for losses. Now a seller offers a “similar” 160 cc motor. At the same flow it spins at 250 rpm, and theoretical torque drops to around 382 N•m. On a slow, heavy drive, that’s a different machine. This is illustrative arithmetic, not a spec sheet, so check the real model data. What to do, step by step 1. Photograph the motor’s nameplate, shaft and mounting flange. 2. Write down the full model code, working pressure and flow. 3. Note what it drives: a winch, conveyor, auger, wheel drive or something else. 4. Send all of it to Advance Hydraulic Works and ask what’s available. 5. Ask every seller, us included, to put the source and warranty in writing. 6. Confirm if the motor is new, rebuilt or used. 7. When it arrives, evaluate the nameplate in order and check the shaft, flange and port. 8. Clean the system, flush the tensions, adapt to the motor and start from low tension. The mistakes we see most often are paying before the model code is confirmed, trusting the vintage supplier declaration and accepting a verbal guarantee. FAQs Who owns the White drive motors brand now? Interpump Group. It bought the business from Danfoss and announced the closing on 1 October 2021. Check with them for the list of authorised sellers. How can I check that a White drive motors dealer is authorised? Ask for written proof of the current authorisation and the source of the stock. If they can’t give it, treat the “authorised” claim as unproven. What does a White drive motors distributor do? It usually buys from the manufacturer and sells on to dealers or end users. It’s the party most likely to have manufacturer support, but ask to see that support in writing. Can a White hydraulic motor supplier sell genuine motors? Yes, if it sources them properly. Ask where the stock came from, whether it’s new or remanufactured, and who gives the warranty. Does Advance Hydraulic Works take enquiries for these motors? Yes. Send the nameplate photos, model code and working pressure, and ask about source and warranty before you commit. Your next step Photograph the nameplate, note your working pressure and send both to Advance Hydraulic Works. Ask us where any motor we quote comes from.
