White drive motor Repair

White drive motor repair: what gets fixed, what it costs, and when to replace

Your orbital motor starts leaking at the shaft, or the conveyor it drives slows down under load. Now you have to decide whether to repair it or replace it. The answer depends on what’s worn inside.

This guide covers how White drive motor repair works, what moves the price, and how to compare quotes. Advance Hydraulic Works imports and trades hydraulic motors and pumps, and does repairs from Delhi NCR. These are the questions we’d go through with you.

What’s inside the motor

White is best known for its hydraulic orbital gerotor motor, and by 2015 it had shipped more than 10 million of them. In a gerotor motor, an inner gear orbits inside an outer ring. The parts that matter for repair, depending on the series, are:

  • the gerotor set (inner gear and outer ring)
  • the valve or commutator that directs the oil
  • the drive link between the gear and the shaft
  • wear plates and the end cap
  • shaft bearings and the output shaft
  • the shaft seal and O-rings

Series differ, so check your exact model before assuming anything.

What goes wrong

Most failures show up in one of four ways.

Leak at the shaft. Often it’s just a worn seal. It can also mean high case pressure or a damaged shaft surface.

Slow or weak output. The gerotor set or wear plates are worn, and oil is slipping past them inside the motor.

Noise or roughness. Look at bearings, the drive link, or air in the oil.

Metal in the oil. This is serious internal damage and needs a full strip-down.

A seal on its own is a cheap job. Slow output usually isn’t.

What a proper White hydraulic motor repair service includes

Whoever does the work, a good White hydraulic motor repair service should:

  1. Strip the motor and inspect every internal part.
  2. Measure wear on the gerotor set, wear plates, bearings and shaft.
  3. Tell you plainly which parts are worn and which can be reused.
  4. Replace the worn parts and all seals.
  5. Rebuild in clean conditions.
  6. Test speed, leakage and pressure before the motor leaves.
  7. Hand you the test results.

Ask any shop, us included, to confirm these steps before you accept a quote.

White hydraulic motor repair cost: what moves the number

Nobody can give you one honest figure without seeing the motor. Here’s what changes it:

  • How much is worn. A seal job and a full rebuild are very different bills.
  • Which parts are needed. A seal kit costs far less than a new gerotor set, shaft and bearings.
  • Parts availability. Hard-to-find parts add cost and time.
  • Motor size and series. Bigger or less common units cost more.
  • Testing and turnaround. A proper test takes time, and rushing it costs extra.
  • Why it failed. If dirty oil or side load on the shaft killed it, the repair has to deal with that too.

Don’t pick on price alone. A cheap repair with no test is a gamble. And when you compare repair against replacement, count the downtime.

How we’d handle it: inspect, test, decide

This is how we’d approach any White drive motor repair enquiry.

Inspect. We start with photos and symptoms. If you go ahead, a strip-down report follows.

Test. Run the motor at a known flow and pressure, measure its real speed, and compare that with the theoretical speed.

Decide. If the numbers are healthy, the problem is somewhere else in the system. If they’re poor, the motor is worn inside, and you choose between repair and replacement.

A worked example

Say you have a 2 hundred cc motor per revolution that is fed forty liters per minute. The theoretical speed is 40,000 ÷ 2 hundred = 200 rpm.

You measure 170 rpm at 150 bar. At that speed, the motor is going one hundred and seventy × two hundred = 34,000 cc per minute, so about 6 liters per minute is leaking internally. That misplaced glide turns into heat: 150 × 6 ÷ six hundred more or less 1. going into five kilowatts of oil.Volumetric efficiency comes out around 85%, which explains both the slow output and the warm system.

A repaired motor should test much closer to 200 rpm, and that test result is what you’re paying for. The arithmetic here is illustrative. Acceptable limits depend on the series and the maker’s data.

What to do, step by step

  1. Photograph the motor, its nameplate and any leaks.
  2. Note the full model code, working pressure and flow.
  3. Write down the symptoms: leak, slow speed, noise or heat.
  4. Rule out simple faults first: relief valve setting, oil level, filters, and a restricted return line.
  5. Send the entire lot to Advance Hydraulic Works and ask for an appraisal.
  6. Ask for a written quote listing components, tests, and modifications.
  7. After the repair, reinstall the motor, test the alignment and wash off traces.
  8. Start at low tension and run the first incarnation, checking the temperature and noise.

The usual mistakes: refitting a repaired motor onto a cause nobody fixed, skipping the test, and choosing on price alone.

FAQs

How much does White hydraulic motor repair cost?

It depends on wear, parts, motor size and testing, so any fixed number would be a guess. Send photos and the model code to Advance Hydraulic Works and ask for an assessment.

What does White drive motor repair involve?

The motor is stripped, wear is measured, worn parts and seals are replaced, and it’s rebuilt cleanly and tested. Ask for the test results.

Is a White hydraulic motor repair service worth it?

Often, yes, when the wear is limited to parts that can be replaced. If the housing or shaft is badly damaged, or the repair cost gets close to a new motor, replacing may make more sense.

Can I just replace the shaft seal?

Only if the motor is healthy inside. If it’s slow or weak, a new seal won’t fix that.

What makes an orbital motor fail early?

Dirty oil, high case pressure, side load on the shaft, overheating, and running above its rated pressure.

Next step

Photograph the motor, list the symptoms, and send it all to Advance Hydraulic Works. You’ll know what the repair involves before you commit to anything.
